Finals

Finals

My original idea that I had about paper dolls has not worked how I hoped. The pens to use on the acetate dont work as well. I find that you can see where you have coloured inon the acetate. I dont think this looks very nice. Though I did try printing on the acetate instead. I found when I did this it did nt work. As the ink just stays on the top. You can get acetate to print with but the acetate I got to draw on is different. Through this it gave me an idea of what I could do instead. I did want to hidden identity in someway. Through printing on the acetate then doing a transfer of the ink on to paper you get an effect that I liked. This process slightly changes the photo and takes away information. I think this works well. Even though it was not my original plan.

Shoot Update

Shoot Update

I had planned a shoot with a model. On the day the model canceled. I had someone else step in for me last minuete. This did mean it wa not as planned as much. My original plan was to do simple straight on positond for a paper doll. The other was using a mirror in case this doesnt work out how I planned. I tried to follow my original plan as much as possible.

Anna Duthie

Anna Duthie has been studying textiles. She specialised in embroidery for fashion. The have added fabrics on top of the work.

I like the work from a photography point of view.  I think the photos being black and white works. As this allows the layers of fabric to be shown. As with what I plan to do is have a similar pose with an overlay of different outfits.

Plan

Plan

My plan is to do the paper dolls. My Idea is to add a layer to each photograph. Each layer will have different clothes like a paper doll. I plan to use acetate for this. I have not used acetate in my work before. It is something that I have wanted to look in to. If this does not work how I think then I will use paper. I plan for the acetate outfits to be blocked colour with small added details like buttons. The reason for this is that I think that if it is detailed it would be too much. Also paper dolls have simple outfits. I plan to use a certain type of pen on the acetate. I did want to do hidden identity but I wasn't sure how that was going to work.

Fashion Brief

Fashion Brief

It is to creat a sieries that are linked to each other. There needs to be an added element. In the long run this element may want to be something that will be a useful tool to my pratice. I will need to produce six images. There will need to be at least one verticle and one horizontal.

Final Photos

Final Photos

For the final I felt that with the well known buildings and a bus the photos look like they were postcards for London. Especially the ones where I focused on the Royal Guards. For printing, I decided to print these on blank postcards. As they were postcards I added a story on the back relating to the front. For the address, I decided to use the address of the building.

Shoot Update

Shoot Update

I was unable to get the whole subject in focus how I was planning. Instead I focused on one part of the scene. The scenes of Nanoblocks that I built are Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge and also a London Bus. I choose a London Bus as I felt It fitted in with the London theme.

Plan

Plan

I plan to build Nanoblocks that are buildings. I plan to photograph close up. Like how you would photograph a real building. I don't want it to be photographed in a way that makes it look the size it is.

This is a Nanoblock site which gives an idea on the size http://www.nanoblockuk.com .

Un Petit Monde (A Small World)

By Kurt and Edwige Moses

The project was started in 2010. It is miniature figures that are set in the real world. They also involve  small props. It is done very well to indicate a storyline. To give you an idea of how small a figure is about two centimeters.

Still Life Brief

Still Life Brief

To produce a series that is related to each other. Will nee to look into different ways to approach still life. Not to do something that is stereotypical of still life. The outcome of the work is to produce six final images. There will have to be at least on vertical and one horizontal. The subject is open but to find something different. The size of prints has not been specified.
