Thomas Leuthard
Thomas Leuthard is a street photographer. He is based in Switzerland. He talks about how street photography is about "being part of the street". Saying it is more about the story that is being told. One thing I noticed on his website was this quote "Street photography is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."
What I like in this photography is the asymmetrical set up. It is probably a very good place for symmetrical photographs. I like that there is someone in the frame at the bottom of the escalators. I like how dark the photograph is highlighting the tunnel.
I think the main reason that I like this photograph is that I feel that it is capturing a moment in time, a one off chance of getting the shot. Generally as a photographer you try not to get such strong reflections in a photograph. But in this photograph it adds something. It tells you so much more information.
What I like about what has been captured here is the absence of contact. There is no direct line with the subject as the eyes are down. It seems that the subject is unaware.
